From the WSJ

The Wall Street Journal reported yesterday that political donations to the National Organization of (Some) Women declined from $327,000 in 1992 to $44,000 in 2004.

No, that’s not a typo: $44,000.

NARAL’s long-time president, Kate Michelman, says, “I do worry about our strength as a movement.” She has been replaced as NARAL president by Nancy Keenan, who is focusing efforts on “a state-based recruitment drive.”

They are gearing up to lose Roe v. Wade and continue their fight at the state level.

They will lose there, too.

    NOW becomes HISTORY

I wrote a post last year where I wondered if the NAACP was going the same way and for the same reasons. NOW was extremely hypocritical over the Clinton scandal and the O. J. trial, but I don’t think that was the proximate cause of their decline.
