Presidential Hopefuls Veto Emergency Contraception Despite FDA Support

This morning I’ll be debating Nancy Keenan, the president of NARAL on the “morning after” pills over the “Democracy Now” network. Check their site for a listing of times.

Nancy Keenan, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, the nation’s leading advocate for personal privacy and a woman’s right to choose, issued the following the statement after the Food and Drug Administration alerted the manufacturer of the morning-after pill that it would delay its decision on whether to permit the over-the-counter sale of the emergency contraceptive to women.

“I certainly hope FDA’s decision isn’t motivated by political considerations…”
