Concerned Women For America Names Evangelical Women of the Year
for AmericaThe 500,000 member Concerned Women for America named the top 12 Evangelical Women for the year.
CWA’s reports that:
Most of the mainstream media lists of “outstanding” women, frankly, leave us a bit cold — too often, they are famous for being celebrities.
When they are “ordinary” women doing “extraordinary” things — as in the most recent issue of Jane magazine — their exploits fail to inspire.
For instance, Jane highlights a 29-year-old-woman who makes her own clothes so that she doesn’t patronize sweatshops and a 28-year-old who cooks without supporting industrial hog farms.
Another “extraordinary” woman doesn’t date anyone who shops at Wal*Mart. A 23-year-old won’t kiss a guy who eats meat or smokes.
Sweatshops, hot farms, Wal*Mart. Main Stream Media trifecta.
Anyway, here are real women making a difference:
Deborah Fikes – Executive Director of the Ministerial Alliance of Midland, Texas
Rebecca Hagelin – Vice President, The Heritage Foundation, Communications and Marketing
Valerie Parr Hill – Businesswoman on QVC
Gianna Jessen – Survived an abortion and speaks publicly to support the sanctity of life.
Jan LaRue – Chief Counsel at Concerned Women for America
Faye Short – President of the RENEW Network
Lisa Thompson – Liaison for the Abolition of Sexual Trafficking for The Salvation Army
Leslee Unruh – President, Abstinence Clearinghouse
Marilyn White – Major in The Salvation Army, retired
Wendy Wright – Executive Vice President of Concerned Women for America
Dr. Charmaine Yoest – creator of the Blog “Reasoned Audacity” and Vice President of External Relations, Family Research Council
Deborah Young – State Director for Louisiana, Concerned Women for America

Followed the link from Mudville. I recognize a few of those names and organizations, and I’ll have to find out more about the rest. I agree, most of the MSM has not much semblance to real life, as we all know. Hats off to these ladies.

If one only read the main stream media, one might not recognize any of the accomplished women on the list.
