In Plan B Use Surges, And So Does Controversy, byline Rob Stein, Washington Post Staff Writer, says,
“The popularity of the morning-after pill Plan B has surged in the year since the federal government approved the sale of the controversial emergency contraceptive without a prescription.
Plan B sales have doubled since the Food and Drug Administration authorized the switch for women 18 and older last August, rising from about $40 million a year to what will probably be close to $80 million for 2007, according to Barr Pharmaceuticals, which makes Plan B….
Last August, federal regulators approved the over-the-counter sale of the emergency contraceptive Plan B to women 18 and older….
The sharp rise was hailed by women’s health and family-planning advocates”
Not everyone agrees. The WaPo did quote the other side, in this case, The Good Guys,
“But conservative groups that fought the change say they are disturbed by the surging use.

appearance on Plan B “This is very concerning,” said Charmaine Yoest of the Family Research Council, which is among several groups suing the FDA to reverse the decision. “We think this is putting women’s health at risk.”…”

Ordinarily, Your Business Blogger advises in Management Training that controversial topics never be taped. The manager has no control over the content after the film crew leaves. In business, if there is sensitive news that requires deeper thinking, the executive must deliver and tell early and tell often and In Real Life. Authentic. The best format is live. That way a liberal Mike Wallace wanna-be won’t fiddle with the tape.
