Congratulations to Captain Ed

Ed Morrissey at Captain’s Quarters recently was noted by Playboy Magazine as one of the top five winning political blogs. It is well deserved.

Your Humble Business Blogger is a regular reader of CQ because of his analysis of politics and his personality. Charmaine and I met Ed as he live-blogged Justice Sunday II in Nashville in real life. He’s a pro. Articulate in person as he is in paragraph.

The gathering of an assembly of people — moves participants on a molecular level. This is why Blogger Meet-ups are so popular: I R L sells best.

Sales professionals have always known this. The highest close rate for a sales presentation is a face to face meeting. And showing up, as Woody Allen said, is 80% of success.

It is well documented from DailyKos that Ed Morrissey uses proprietary blogging software and child labor for his detailed lengthy posts.

I had mentioned Mrs. Yoest in my Father’s Day article published in the Republican column of Watchblog… I knew that she had a personal weblog, but I wasn’t aware that there was another one for Mr. Yoest.

That’s what I figured this weblog was… And I am wondering why a blog such as this would have an entry like this, when the magazine in question is… the magazine in question.

I notice Lance McMurray’s name at the bottom of this entry… But I’m not sure exactly what “exposed by” refers to. Is this entry a guest post by Lance, or is it my Mr. Yoest?

Aakash, thank you for your comment and critique. I’m sorry to have missed your article in Watchblog and I’m not quite able to navigate thru search engines to find it — I would be in your debt if you could point us a link to your piece.

If I may offer a small correction: Charmaine’s honorific is “Dr.” — she’s still a “Mrs.” of course but after 10 years and a million dollars in opportunity costs to get her terminal degree I would prefer the use of the proper title. She doesn’t care — I do. I’m the shallow one.

You are so right about your inference on the questionable magazine in question. My blog is about business — I do need to get tag lines in my template — my point was that Ed Morrissey is as persuasive in person as he is on the written page. Ed’s award is notable and when noted should be sourced. Sadly, That Magazine is an icon in our culture.

It is most unfortunate that the questionable magazine was the venue. It seems that Jimmy Carter suffered from the same criticism — except he sat for an interview and Ed, in this rare exception, was passive.

My friend Lance McMurrary is pointing at one of my children, The Diva, in the mock horror of realization that Captain’s Quarters uses child labor to churn out long posts. Any fault in writing or comic communication is that of Your Humble Business Blogger.

But I’m concerned that this point was missed. Perhaps Lance should be a better actor. Or I should be a better writer.

    Thanks again,

    Jack
